Courage to be Happy
As Buddhist meditation practice became popular in the United States, I was often asked, "Why are so many Jews Buddhist?" My answer was, "Many Westerners, Jews among them, are interested in the meditation techniques and the philosophy the Buddha taught."
The Courage to Be Happy, my own memoir answer to that question, makes the point that Mindfulness, the ability to meet life with clarity and balance, cultivates gratitude, compassion, and the impulse to bless, the hoped for goals of all religious traditions.
